I have to say this!  DO IT!!!  IT doesn't take long and it's not hard to do at all.  You Will need a feeler gauge and probably a new gasket for you valve cover... It really does make an improvement in the vibration and makes your engine run quieter.  Look in you engines manual for the specific clearance. On mine, a Yanmar 3 GM 30 It's .02mm.  It is really worth doing. I just did it again today, and boy it makes a real difference!  _/)

. Valve clearance affects compression and valve timing. Incorrect clearance causes needless wear and affects engine performance. Its a simple enough procedure that takes about a half hour.
Do it, at least, once yearly.
